Abstract

Financial health is considered as an individual's ability in order to maintain financial stability through wise financial management. However, the high use of fintech among Gen Z without enough financial knowledge can increase the risk of overspending, financial stress, and long-term financial problems. The study aims to determine how e-wallets, pay later, cashback promotions, and social media affect Gen Z’s financial behavior, considering financial literacy moderating role; besides, to address the knowledge gap by analyzing the relationships between these variables among Generation Z across Indonesia, which represents an urban population with high levels of fintech adoption. It used a quantitative survey approach. Moreover, the population used was Gen Z in Indonesia (aged 17–28) with a sample of 215 respondents who actively use e-wallet and paylater services in their financial activities. In addition, this study selected participants on purpose, and the information was gathered using an online form created with Google Forms. The results indicate that financial literacy does not impact or influence sustainable financial health. Using pay later services, e-wallets, cashback offers, and social media can really help improve someone's financial situation over time.
